Brian "The Magic" Bentel - Some people think Brian is a bit vain. This is because they have met and spoken with Brian. He's a big jerk and the rest of the band thinks he's a dummy-head. Brian is very open to other people taking on tasks in the band, and he said that whatever I decided to write about him as his biography is fine. (Please don't tell him I wrote about what a jerk he is. I told him this just says he's awesome and has the voice of an angel.)*
Akiko "Kix" Yoshida - Known in some circles as "The Joan Jett of Japan," Kix Yoshida has made several appearances at Budokan, on one occasion having her foot run over by Cheap Trick's Bun E. Carlos's limousine. Kix's approach to bass playing is a quest to provide a lot of driving bottom end to TFK songs, and she works hard to drive your bottom end out onto the dance floor.*
Al "Mr. Vegas" Villegas - A highly acclaimed drummer and the driving force behind TFK, Mr. Vegas plays with a primitive and provocative style. He produces his signature sound from a set of hollowed-out sequoias played with sticks carved from petrified T. Rex bones. He is a legend in his field, and his likeness is a common tattoo for other percussionists.*
Rob "Fidget Fingers" Boostrom - After writing The Great Gatsby, Rob worked as a mule skinner in the Yukon during the gold rush. He developed a technique for creating moldy bread from penicillin and has never bowled less than a 300 game. He describes his approach to guitar playing as being out on a limb at all times in an effort to stretch toward some of the weirdest sounds possible.*
See Rob's cocktail recipes here.
